| Béziers lock Above Left : the top gates (manual), and Right : the central set of gates which have been automated (note the hydraulic rams), the lock-keeper's cottage behind. Normally only the lower section is used to allow boats to enter and leave the Port of Béziers, but by leaving the central gates open and using the top 'bottom sets of gates, boats of up to sixty meters can pass.
